Insolvency proceedings court fees rise

The Ministry of Justice has announced that it has increased the fees charged by courts and tribunals for many types of proceedings. The aim behind the increase is to recover the costs of court services through the fees charged to users. The result is that many fees have increased significantly.

The increases came into effect on 22 April 2014 – with the exception of those increases/new fees that apply to the Court of Appeal which will not be implemented yet as procedure rule changes are required before their introduction. They will therefore be amended once the necessary rule changes are in place.

A full list of the revised fees can be found at Annex A of the government response to the consultation at consult.justice.gov.uk/digital-communications/court-fees-proposals-for-reform/consult_view
