When considering whether to instruct a solicitor to deal with the divorce on your behalf, one of the main hurdles clients are most worried about is the cost.

Eligibility for Legal Aid to cover the cost of divorce

You are only entitled to Legal Aid to financially support you through the process if you meet the financial eligibility criteria and you have sought or obtained third party professional advice regarding domestic abuse. If you are unable to satisfy both, then you will not be able to obtain Legal Aid and will have to fund the proceedings yourself.
