What is a Child Arrangements Order?
A child arrangements order is an order which regulates the arrangements of a child to include:
- Who the child is to live, spend time or otherwise have contact with
- When the child is to live, spend time or have contact with either parent
Child Arrangement Order example
Contact between the parent and child can take the form of direct contact. Such as staying overnight, visiting, meeting for a meal or activity.
It can also take the form of indirect contact. For example, telephone calls, FaceTime, emails, sending or receiving cards for birthdays or festive celebrations.
Indirect contact is generally ordered when it is not suitable or appropriate for the child to see the parent directly, even if the contact is supervised.
