Supreme Court to Tweet
The Supreme Court, the highest court in the UK, has started to “tweet” its followers with the outcome of judgments and other selected news, as part of the court’s commitment to making its proceedings as accessible as possible.
The updates, which will be sent from @UKSupremeCourt, have begun with the swearing-in of the new Supreme Court Justice, Lord Reed, although it has indicated that it would like to be able to be fully up and running in time for the judgment in Julian Assange’s appeal against his extradition to Sweden, on a technical point about the validity of the warrant’s signatory.
