TRA Written Response to the TRA Decision Maker
The client, a teacher, faced 4 allegations of unprofessional conduct. In particular, inappropriate touching and conversations with pupils which were alleged to be sexually motivated. Having reviewed the TRA material and taking our client’s instructions, it became apparent that many of the allegations were without foundation, as the evidence on which they were based lacked obvious credibility or was based entirely on hearsay and an anonymous source. Accordingly, in our submissions, we argued that the TRA evidence could not meet the evidential criteria for a case to answer. We were successful in our arguments, and the TRA discontinued all allegations.
The client wrote a review:
“Sarah- Jane Varley at Richard Nelson LLP dealt with my case. From the outset, she was clear in her explanation of what services she could offer and what the cost would be. Throughout she was excellent, prompt to respond and very supportive of me; I was both confident and grateful that I had Sarah-Jane on my side.”
