GOsC publishes new student guidance
09 May 2012
The General Osteopathic Council has published new guidance aimed at osteopathy students and their educational institutions. The new guidance outlines the role of the osteopathic educational institution in relation to student fitness to practise and suggests a suitable framework for the management of fitness to practise issues.
Many people with a disability or long-term health condition have the potential to become independent osteopathic practitioners. This guidance is about enabling them to undertake osteopathic education and training and practise osteopathy with or without adjustments to support their practice.
Osteopathic educational institutions are responsible for ensuring that only students who are capable of practising to our standards of practice, without supervision, are awarded a Recognised Qualification.
