The Health and Care Professions Council have recently published revised standards of proficiency for Art therapists, Dietitians, Occupational therapists and Orthoptists, which have been effective since 1st March 2013.

This is part of the HCPC’s review process for the standards of proficiency for each of the professionals they regulate, ensuring that the standards continue to reflect modern developments in current practice and education.

The generic standards of proficiency applicable to all HCPC regulated professions have also been revised and updated.

The next professions the HCPC are considering for review include Chiropodists/Podiatrists, Prosthetists/Orthotists and Speech and Language Therapists.

HCPC defence lawyers of the Medic Assistance Scheme are experienced in defending and assisting HCPC registrants with any fitness to practise issues.
