The UK Public Health Register, the independent, dedicated regulator for public health professionals in the United Kingdom, has announced that it has appointed David Kidney to be its Chief Executive.

David was previously the Member of Parliament for Stafford from 1997 to 2010 and is currently on secondment to Better Regulation Delivery Office from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. He has a strong interest in Public Health and will commence duties on 1 June 2013.

The UKPHR has also announced that Sarah North will be moving to the newly created position of Director of Policy and Development with effect from 1 June 2013.

The UKPHR is is administered by a not-for-profit company and acts as a Register for those public health professionals who have no other regulatory body. Further information can be found at www.publichealthregister.org.uk.
