Khadijah Maqsood
Solicitor
Khadijah is an experienced Immigration Solicitor who has specialised in UK immigration law since 2017 and qualified in 2019. She is accredited as a Supervisor Senior Caseworker under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS) and has extensive experience advising on both personal and corporate immigration matters.
Before joining Richard Nelson LLP, Khadijah held senior roles in national firms, including Head of Department, and later worked as an Immigration Lawyer at the Immigration Advice Service (IAS). Her work spans the full range of immigration applications, including Spouse and Partner visas, Appendix FM and private life routes, long residence and Indefinite Leave to Remain, naturalisation, EU Settlement Scheme matters, visit visas, and UK Ancestry applications. She also supports businesses with Sponsor Licence applications, Skilled Worker visas, compliance duties and Certificate of Sponsorship allocations.
Khadijah has a strong background in appeals and litigation, having represented clients in asylum, human rights and bail matters before the First-tier Tribunal. A notable case involved acting for a Syrian national whose nationality was disputed by the Home Office; following detailed preparation and the presentation of counter-evidence, the appeal was allowed and the client was granted refugee status after seven years.
