Pam is a highly regarded employment solicitor, working with employers and employees in and around Cornwall and the South West. Pam has substantial experience in all areas of employment law, in particular; grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals, discrimination, restructures, business transfers (TUPE), drafting/reviewing policies and procedures, settlement agreements, as well as employment litigation from early conciliation to Employment Tribunal claims.
Pam takes the time to understand your aims and approach to risk to provide solution-focused and practical advice whether dealing with internal personnel matters, negotiations or representation during litigation.
Pam qualified as a solicitor in 2003 following her training in Leicester. Between 2003 – 2008, Pam specialised in residential conveyancing and gained experience as both a team leader and team manager. Working as a manager sparked Pam’s interest in personnel issues and she took the opportunity to change her specialism to focus on employment law.
Initially working with SMEs, hotels, restaurants and employees, Pam joined the public sector working with two local authorities (the first in the West Midlands before relocating to Cornwall in 2013). Since 2009, Pam has supported Senior Leaders within the local authority (LA), schools, multi-academy trusts, town and parish councils, two fire authorities, a hospital trust, as well as the LA and fire authorities’ arm’s length companies when disputes arise with employees and unions. Pam joined Richard Nelson LLP on 1st October 2018.
Pam has been one of the local authority’s Diversity and Equality Action Group Representative for over 3 years and was an active member of the BAME group. Pam is also a trained workplace mediator and qualified workplace investigator.
